Like Puyo Puyo, Kirby's Avalanche is divided into 3 levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. This is much like Arle Nadja in the early Puyo games, though this might be a coincidence. Kirby's attitude is rough and sarcastic while still cheerful. This is the very first Kirby game to have dialogue, and the only one where the hero himself speaks. Kirby is set on winning the Dream Fountain Cup, just like everyone else, and so our story begins However, there's a catch: if you meet another competitor on the road, you must challenge them! The loser is disqualified, to narrow down the competitors at the Fountain of Dreams. Months of organizing later, the very first annual Dream Land Avalanche Competition begins! The rules are simple: get to the Fountain of Dreams on foot and defeat a set of opponents in a game of Avalanche to win the Dream Fountain Cup. One day, Dream Land's round pink hero Kirby began to wonder who the best player in Dream Land was. The game Avalanche (or Ghost Trap) has taken Dream Land by storm, and every citizen in the land is playing it.
